Yuan,
Thank you for your interest in K42. In general these questions are
best answered if you post to the discussion group which can be accessed via
the K42 web page: http://www.research.ibm.com/K42. As you got to our
information a different way I'm rsponding and cc'ing the disussion group.
On our web page you will find several papers about our hot-swapping
and dynamic update mechanisms that provide self-healing and self-adaptation
properties in K42. I list below 5 papers that are on the web site. We
have another that will be appearing in the upcoming Usenix as well. If you
would like additional information about that work before it appears you may
contact Andrew Baumann (cc'ed on this note) who is the lead author of that.
Also his thesis is in this area and may be able to provide additional
literature of interest to you.
- Providing Dynamic Update in an Operating System
- Module Hot-Swapping for Dynamic Update and Reconfiguration in K42
- System Support for Online Reconfiguration
- Enabling Autonomic System Software with Hot-Swapping
