[K42-discussion] Allocating error codes

Over the next week I'm going to be submitting patches that include new 
error codes, i.e. the first param to the _SERROR macro.  However, IBM 
maintains the global error code allocation so I'm just making them up in 
the 9000-10000 range and leaving a FIXME comment that IBM needs to 
allocate new ones for me.  This seems like a pain for whoever applies 
the patches.  Is there a way I can get a block of error codes allocated 
ahead of time?  How has this been handled in the past?
