[K42-discussion] Two more patches

I've attached patches that add and redistribute parts of Makefile.new  
into included submakefiles, particularly parts for building libk.a.  
I've also attached a revised version of a patch that donour sent; the  
original one needed catexit() which we don't yet know quite how to  
support in K42. Barring complaints, I'll push these out early next week.
