Well, as I just posted, Livio's patch to the MountPointMgr seems to have fixed 
it, but if you still want to try to reproduce it:

1. grab http://re-aim-7.sourceforge.net/re-aim-7.tar.gz
2. unpack it on a linux machine and run the "bootstrap" script (this fails on 
   K42 because m4 uses an unimplemented system call)
3. move it to K42 and run configure
4. when the mmap test crashes, just kill it with the debugger and the 
   configure script should continue
5. it should then crash in baseServers when it is in the final part of the 
   configure script, generating the Makefiles
