The K42 team would like to announce to the K42 community that an
experimental prototype version of DB2 UDB is now running on K42. This
prototype version of DB2 uses a thread-based rather than a process-based
execution model. K42 is perhaps the first research operating system
capable of running a full-featured commercial database management system.
So far we have only looked at basic functionality, and we have not even
begun to look at performance, but we are excited that we were able to get
this working.

If you are interested in getting access to the DB2 binaries for your
research on K42, or to help us in our performance tuning efforts, please
let us know and we will see what we can do with the DB2 team to make
binaries available. No guarantees....
