[K42-discussion] What is the correct version of gcc, glibc, binutils, linux and linuxthreads required for a successful K42 build ?

RIght, we'll be starting on PPC/gcc 4 first for exactly that reason.  
We're going to need to know a compiler for x86_64, too, and having  
gcc 4.1 should have less bugs and be faster on x86_64, too.
