Hi Jimi,
If I understand this system correctly, based on your inputs and
the supplied documentation, there are two steps required to complete the
simulator network interface with a host machine.
The first is to run a netap application that will capture all broadcast
packets not addressed to the underlying ethernet device (say eth0) and then
to set up and initialize the bogus net interface on the cell systemsim. If
netap is not running, then the cell systemsim initialization will fail
saying that it cannot transmit a handshake.
So, if I understand this correctly :
a. If I were to run K42, when I type the command 'display configures' in the
systemsim console , I would get gpul.
b. If I were to run the cell systemsim, when I type the command 'display
configures' in the systemsim console, I would get 'mysim myconf cell sti'.
To configure the bogus net interface, I would then need to type the
following command : mysim bogus net init 0 de:ad:ca:fe:ba:be
/tmp/serversocketh0
And if I understand the systemsim command reference document correctly, a
pre-requisite is to have an application running on the host to intercept and
recieve the TCP/IP message packets on the host machine, prior to
initializing the bogus net interface on the simulator.
So, I guess it all boils down to having the netap application on the host
machine to recieve the broadcast packets from the simulator network
interface.
Unfortunately, I cannot locate the netap application in the distribution and
hence my machine environment setup is incomplete, with respect to the host
machine, for the simulator network interface.
Do let me know if I am on the right track ! :-)
Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon !
Best regards,
Elvis Dowson

ok, but perhpas you should be working with systemsim-gpul if you plan
on running k42.

Sorry, I think its best you ask fro missing systemsim code in the forum.
